Yes, Joe - the POD is not really for the money as much as my real bets. You are exactly right - however many on this forum in POD contests have missed getting plays in by 1 - 3 minutes because of the BOS clock; even though we ALL KNOW that the clock is 5 mins fast. Subtracting 5 mins from the BOS clock (Allowing a 1:05 NFL POD to count if it's posted at BOS at or before 1:10) makes sense.

I know it's going to be impossible to make the BOS clock more accurate by subtracting 5. That's why I vote with the morons. Keep using the wrong clock, the clock off by 5 minutes, the way it is now - otherwise the retarts here will get confused and complain against it, instead of an easy fix to the problem that makes sense and makes us more accurate.

I think the big math that needs to take place in order to calculate all this is worth the extra effort for the late players or even just for the sake of being more accurate.
If it's too tough to use real time (based on the clock here where we post) and therefore be more accurate, then so be it.
Based on many of there posts here it's not like the folks here are computer geniuses. I could see this 5 minute clock adjustment really confusing people.

Green Bay simply has to good of a track record in Green Bay. Farve wants to go out a winner. He will counter with his arm everything Vick does with his feet. I simply don't believe 7 points is enough.

The Giants also had a big win last week to make the playoffs. I believe San Francisco thinks they are better than they really are and will look past the Giants. The Giants will not only cover, but will win outright.

The Steelers beat the Browns by 3 points twice. (once in overtime) Couch is out with a broken leg, but the Browns back up QB is not an average back up. Earlier in the season with Couch out he had a QB rating of over 100. I don't if the Browns will win but they will cover.

Barney: I understand what you are saying about betting line moves but this is a POD contest yes there is money involved,but there are plenty of games to pick in a contest,it's not like betting a few hundred on a game. Adjust your time to go with BOS. My computer time is the same as BOS. I had a problem getting in late Nov and Dec. I was using AOL but I switched ISP and have not had a problem.

Who can really keep track of actual tip off times and then doing the math with the BOS clock for every game? (if that's what you were suggesting - I'm not sure as your post is not clear as to what the alternate solution is).
But if we do go to a "tip off" situation or something other than the clock here ("when did that Austin Pea/Lehigh game really tip off?") there is bound to be trouble.
Lou - the BOS clock as a standard for time has always been an excellent idea.
Howbaout this:
Just subtract 5 minutes from the BOS clock. We all know it's about 6 minutes fast. So, a 1:35 tip has until 1:40 BOS time to make it in - regardless of tip off. This way we keep ONE Documented clock - right here where we post.

Believe it or not, many of my plays are decided by late line movement. Just like today's. I really need the last five minutes before tip off to make a decision. BOS's clock robs me of that 5 minutes.
